Great Place Award

On Tuesday, June 1st, SPJS welcomed several distinguished guests to the school to honour two recipients of the HPEDSB Great Place Awards, the highest recognition in our school district.  Trustees Ms. Hall and Mr. Pitman were on hand to present the awards to Mr. Sills, our lead hand custodian, and Mrs. Valerie Wilson, a volunteer, both of whom were very surprised.  All SPJS students and staff, and special guests as well, gathered in the primary gym for the fun.  Mrs. Wilson — known to students young & old as “Nana” — was recognized for her dedication and hard work in the primary building where she volunteers and helps in all classes, working with students and staff to ensure that those little extras are always there for everyone.  Mr. Sills was recognized not just for his excellent work in both buildings, but also his incredible dedication to going above and beyond to help in any way he can,  and for the wonderful way in which he interacts with students and always has a kind word for each of them.  We are so lucky to have these two award recipients in our school community!  Thank you for all  you do to make SPJS such a great place to be!!
