STAY TUNED FOR PICTURES WHEN THE TEAM RETURNS!
Hamjambo Family and Friends
Our names are Brianna and Nareena, the facilitators of the EF Quinte trip here in Kenya. After a long but extremely beautiful drive starting off in Nairobi and winding down into the Rift Valley. We all arrived safely to our camp near the upcoming Oleleshwa Secondary School, Free The Children’s second all girls high school. After some much needed rest, our first morning was kicked off with a language lesson on Swahili, the National language of Kenya, by our very own Maasai Guide Stephen. Stephen will be with us throughout the whole trip to share knowledge about the flora and fauna of the Maasai Mara as well about Maasai culture.
We then put forward some challenges to the group, to get to know each other better and form a strong team before venturing onto a build site together, which we have already done one session of. We are working together to move along teachers accommodations at the Oleleshwa Secondary School for it to hopefully open this summer!
Everyone has really loved their time thus far and are looking forward to carrying water alongside some Maasai Mamas tomorrow and continuing to see their efforts build upon the high school.
Thanks for sending us such a wonderful group!
