Welcome to Prince of Wales

School Photo

Located in Belleville’s north end, Hillcrest and Prince of Wales schools are twinned facilities,
sharing an administrative team. Hillcrest has approximately 125 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 5.  Students then move to Prince of Wales to continue their education.  Prince of Wales serves approximately 350 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8.

Student success in all areas of education - academics, character development, citizenship, the arts and athletics is the goal for every student at both schools.  Prince of Wales offers YMCA Before and After School and Breakfast Club Programs while both schools maintain snack bins offering nutritional snacks to students who may otherwise go without.  Both sites are fortunate to have large school yards with a variety of playground equipment.

Prince of Wales Schools also offer system specialized classes for students with both cognitive and physical needs.  Prince of Wales also host a number of system classes to serve students with special needs.    Prince of Wales offers both a Primary and Junior/Intermediate program for students with autism in addition to the system class for Primary students with developmental disabilities.

Students from Prince of Wales proceed to Quinte Secondary School for Grades 9 to 12.

Prince of Wales - A Safe and Caring Learning Community
The Safe School Committee at Prince of Wales created and implemented Shared Solutions, a school wide initiative to support the learning of character education.

All students and staff will adhere to a set of Safe Schools Agreements, use common language, and follow a problem solving strategy to help keep our school a happy and safe environment.

You can help support your child's development by using similar language and problem solving strategies at home. Click on the links below for a glimpse of Shared Solutions.

Prince of Wales raise over $600 to support efforts in Haiti!
For the last two weeks, Ms Lawrence's and Miss Melburn's class have worked together to raise money towards efforts in Haiti. A big thank you goes out to Miss Melburn's students have been working hard to make popcorn and hot dogs, which were sold to the school community in order to raise funds. As well, thank you to Ms Lawrence's class for collecting and distributing the food. None of this would've been possible without your efforts!
