Every year PECI's Leadership class hosts many different school events throughout the school. If you are interested in becoming involved within PECI, check out the course description!
Grade 9 Day!
Grade 9 day is an annual event in September to introduce the new grade 9 students to PECI and welcome them to our school. A barbeque is held at lunch so new panthers can eat and enjoy a free lunch, and games and activities are held in the afternoon during periods 3 & 4. Teams are formed from each home room class, where students play cooperative and fun games with their class members. This is a great tradition as P. E. C. I as a fun and active way to build school spirt with our newest panthers.
Terry Fox Run!
Thirty years ago Terry Fox ran across Canada for the cure to cancer. Since then PECI has actively supported this cause by having an annual, "Terry Fox Run." As a school, PECI finds it very important to become involved in fund-raising for events and causes that effect our community and country. Each year students from PECI gather together and complete 5 kilometers either walking or running. In preparation for the run panthers show their school spirit with face paint and decorated outfits. In addition to being physically involved the students and staff make donations and pledges towards cancer research. This year PECI proudly raised and donated $6,753. After completing the run all participants return to the school for healthy snacks & drinks & live entertainment. Great work PECI, we all look forward to next year's Terry Fox Run.
