Each year P.E.C.I sends a team of four students to Loyalist College to compete in the Junior Iron Chef competition. This competition is modelled after the Iron Chef series on the Food Network. Each year teams are given two secret ingredients which they must use to create their recipes.
These teams come from all across Ontario. The team must prepare an appetizer, main course and a dessert. They have two hours to complete and serve the three courses. Their food is then judged by a group of chefs.
This group of students is a team NOT a club. Tryouts are held in October and the team runs from October to April. They use local chefs to help coach the team, as well as local cuisine and suppliers. P.E.C.I. has always medalled and hopes to maintain its reputation as one of the best food schools in Ontario.
