Madoc Township Public School is a rural school located north of the village of Madoc off of Highway #62, serving 140 students from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 6. The school is surrounded by rural fields, farms, shade trees and conservation wetlands. Outdoor facilities include a track, a new playground structure built in 2007, a covered picnic shelter, three soccer fields, and one ball diamond. Indoor facilities include a library, a literacy room, a computer lab, a music room, SMARTBOARDS, a well equipped gymnasium with a stage and a retractable screen for video presentations. The school has seven classrooms, and an Early Learning Program that offers every day/full day kindergarten.

In a welcoming and inclusive environment, students are supported to achieve high academic standards and meet their own personal goals. Individual accomplishments are celebrated on the daily announcements and through formal programs such as the Kiwanis Terrific Kids Award and celebration assemblies. Other celebrations and traditions include full school turkey dinners, CAREER FAIR, Fun Fair/Carnival, craft carousels and holiday concerts. Our slogan “Friendship and Learning!” is celebrated every day in an environment where we have fun and celebrate the HPEDSB character attributes of caring, cooperation, honesty, humour, integrity, respect, responsibility and trustworthiness. At Madoc Township our mission is “prepare students to become healthy, responsible, and contributing citizens who can meet the challenges of an ever-changing world!”

Staff, parents, and community members openly communicate and work together to support student learning and success. The school operates on a balanced day schedule between 8:10a.m. and 2:30 p.m. and all students travel to school on a bus.

Madoc Township PS students attend Madoc Public School for Grades 7 and 8 and continue on to Centre Hastings Secondary School.
