Free Online Math Homework Help

Online Math Homework Help is now being offered in our school board from the Ministry of Education as free online math tutoring and support for any student from grade 7 to 10.

The website offers students a variety of resources for math, including Certified Ontario Math teachers in real time, online tutors in a chat room, with one-on-one support.  Each chat room has a whiteboard where both student and teacher can draw on and write as they work to develop an answer to the student’s math problem.  There are also audio-enabled chat rooms that allow students to watch tutors’ explanations.

Chat Rooms are open every Sunday- Thursday from 5:30-9:30 pm

Chat rooms:

·         Are created to be a safe learning environment

·         Do not allow conversations between students

·         Are recorded

·         Allow students to be anonymous and to create their own username

Tutoring sessions are available to all registered users to watch and learn, including parents/guardians that can go on as guests.

Criminal Record Check Services offered by Belleville Police Service

The Community Connections goal contained within the AiM system plan states that Hastings
and Prince Edward District School Board is a system of character that supports the success of
each student through effective community relationships, and safe, respectful, inclusive learning
and working environments.

System and school administrators encourage the use of volunteers in the schools of Hastings
and Prince Edward District School Board. The presence of volunteers enriches the educational
experience of students. Administrative Procedure 498: Volunteers in Schools was updated in
September 2009 and provides schools with direction related to the use of volunteers in schools.
Current situation

Volunteers must complete the Vulnerable Sector Screening Request. The Belleville Police
Service can only complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening for residents of the City of Belleville. If
a person is a non resident of the City of Belleville they must make this application to the police
service that is responsible for policing in their jurisdiction.

Free Volunteer Criminal Record Checks

The Belleville Police Service still offers volunteers with non-profit organizations working with the
vulnerable sector a free Criminal Record Check.   Volunteers can check the Belleville Police Services
Website
under Coming Events for the dates and times.
