Pedals For Hope Campaign - Canadian Cancer Society

PEDAL FOR HOPE The Frankford school community has come through again and we raised $3726 for Pedal For Hope/Cops for Cancer. Thanks to our student leaders in PALS for organizing and promoting this important project and to our school community for always wanting to make a difference.  A big thanks to the staff and students who gave up their hair to support a great program for others!

Celebrate The Hero / Terrific Kids and Falcons at FPS

At FPS we believe everyone can be a hero by making good choices that have a positive effect on others at home and school. All students from Grades K - 8 are participating in this program called Celebrate the Hero.  Little things do make a difference and by holding a door for another, a smile or simple sincere compliment can change someone's day.  Follow our activities at http://www.celebratethehero.com/current-missions.

“Most of us talk one way and live another. There are few people who truly, truly walk the talk.”

Smart and Good!

altaltaltalt

AT FPS we believe in the education of the whole child. Our learning community is fortunate to have strong ties to our local charities, local businesses and community groups that support us so our students learn to be caring and respectful citizens.  We believe in giving back and staff are sponsoring a number of families this holiday season and students are busy gathering and donating food items to support our neighbours. Students and staff participated in our community parade in November. We raised over $400 in coins to support men's health in "Movember" and we all wore a mustache for a day. Male staff did some colouring of their "stache". Pink Day was celebrated in October and "Be Kind to Me" was our focus during bullying prevention week to promote awareness to showing respect and caring for others.

We are participating in "Celebrate the Hero" that is a local organization that helps students recognize that the choices they make minute to minute, hour to hour and day to day impact us all. We celebrate everyone who can be a hero doing kind acts for others in simple ways at school, home and in the community. This is for all students from K- Grade 8. Each month we celebrate the HPEDSB character attributes so we are Growing With Character (see link on the left in HPEDSB web sites) though Terrific Kids and our Falcon Awards. Our Student Leadership Group includes over 30 Grade 7 and 8 students who plan and organize theme days, dances and events. FPS is a Healthy Active School Community and student leaders plan and organize playground games to promote helath living through student leaders who are our PALS. Students regularly volunteer to support their peers and younger students on the playground and in the classroom with academics.

We want all of our children to be both smart and good!
