Welcome back to C.H.S.S. Centurions! This year our first day is going to be a little different, as we are running our first ever Link Crew Orientation. Thirty-five students have volunteered their time in order to welcome this year's grade nines to our amazing school. During the day, the grade nines will be touring the school, participating in activities and an opening assembly, and just getting a chance to settle in. Let's have a great, enthusiastic first day back!
Link Crew Leader Training: August 31st and September 1st, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Having a Blast at Gamerama |
On Thursday, May 27th Centurions celebrated their annual Gamerama afternoon with 20 teams participating in 10 different games. For the past 20+ years, Gamerama, with it's wacky games on the football field, has signalled the end of another school year with mud, water and competition. This year's theme, Retro-Rama, had students and staff brake out the sixties clothing.

Congratulations to Kathryn Lupton, a grade twelve Centre Hastings Secondary School student, for receiving an honourable mention in the Learning Partnership’s Turning Points Essay Contest. Out of 8, 865 essay entries, Kathryn placed in the top nine of her grade. This is an outstanding achievement.
Kathryn, along with her teacher, Ms. Primeau, will be attending an Awards Luncheon at University of Toronto on May 26, 2010. Her essay will also be published with the other winners. Kathryn’s emotional essay, “Cherish the Goldfish,” discusses the impact of losing her mother at the young age of five. Through strong metaphors and poignant dialogue, Kathryn’s story offers hope in the midst of loss. Congratulations, Kathryn!
