CHSS 10-11 Course Calendar |
|
Course Selection time is here once again and course calendars are out. Guidance has identified Feb. 22 - March 11 as the course selection period. Students have be given their print copies of the 2010 - 2010 course calendar and other resources that they need to successfully pick courses for next year. For your convenience we have made our 2009-2010 course calendar available online...Click on the subjects below to browse the subjects you are interested in.
Choosing your courses wisely when you complete your course selection forms ensures a better chance that you will get the courses that you select. Take the time to do it properly in advance, and do not wait until the Fall to seriously think about your future! Good luck, and please contact Guidance or call the school if you have any specific questions that require further assistance. We look forward to working with you in 2010-11!

EQAO Literacy Test @ CHSS |

Good Luck to All Centurions Writing the EQAO Literacy Test on Thursday April 8nd !
On Thursday, April 8th, Grade 10 Centurions will join all other grade 10 students in the province to write their mandatory provincial Literacy Test (OSSLT). The purpose of this test is to ensure that students have acquired essential reading and writing skills to be successful in the future. All students in public and private schools who are working toward an Ontario Secondary School Diploma are required to write the OSSLT . Due to the importance of this test, CHSS has included on this webpage links to the EQAO website so that students and parents can download practice activities. |
On February 24, CHSS hosted the Kids Help Phone School Tour presented by Motorola's Raise Your Voice program. Two counsellors from Kids Help Phone came to CHSS to explain to grade 9 and 10 students how the service works. In addition, Dilys and Victoria talked to students about the importance of raising their voices and asking for help when they need it. Thank you to Kids Help Phone and Raise Your Voice for giving CHSS the oppurtunity to hold this important assembly!
Remember, if you need to talk to a professional counsellor, you reach Kids Help Phone 24/7 at 1-800-668-6868 or you can post a message online at kidshelpphone.ca.
